Trains From Goa To Bangalore
Back Home After Fun Vacation at Goa
The azure waters of the sea hold a unique appeal for some people. I am one of them. Despite leading a hectic life, I find enough time every year to go for a short vacation to a coastal area. I had been planning for a solo trip to Goa for quite some time. I went for the long-planned trip last September. The trip turned out to be a highly enjoyable one since Goa was calmer as compared to what it normally does during the winters.

My hotel room had a modern décor. The inviting ambiance of the room, coupled with the large size bed made me feel at home. I went early to bed to get over the tiredness caused by the journey. The hotel’s staff displayed a high level of professionalism and ensured that my room was cleaned on time as per my convenience.
The journey by the Velankanni Express was a smooth one. I had a picturesque view of the landscape of both Karnataka and Maharashtra. The lush greenery of the countryside, coupled by the innate charm of the Western Ghats was a unique experience. The view of the lush green hills with water falls reminded by of Wordsworth’s poems where he vividly described the countryside during the return trip. I wished if I could paint the landscapes that I came across during my journey! Here are some of the notable aspects of my return journey that made it exciting: -
The train journey
Our compartment was pretty clean as compared to other trains from Goa to Bangalore, which I had travelled in the past. During the journey, I met a Malayali family who had come from Kerala for a short sojourn in Goa. They were going to Bangalore to meet their daughter. I had a good time talking throughout the journey.
I showed them the pictures that I had taken at Goa. They also shared their experiences. Being devout Catholics, they visited the major churches there such as Basilica of Bom Jesus and Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception Church.

The food was served to us in due course. Its quality was better as compared to what I had during my previous trips. The Mysore Masala Dosa had an authentic taste which was quite different from what I had in other parts of India. I had a hearty meal before going to sleep.
Recollecting thoughts of the trip
The time spent roaming the golden beaches of Goa, enjoying the night parties and Goan delicacies shall always remain special for me. But what made the journey an enjoyable one was the return trip! Never before I had come across so friendly co-passengers.
The train reached Bangalore on time. Since then, I often look back at the pictures to recollect memories of the return trip. Now, rather than the sea, I long for trips to the countryside. They help me to connect with nature and get over the anxieties of my day to day life.
